Description: Only lapwing with white tail and long yellow legs. Gray-brown neck and upperparts; unmarked pale gray head. Gray breast and whitish rump, tail, and underparts. Broad whitish bar across innerwing and mostly black primaries.
Behavior: Feeds by running or walking and pausing to take prey.
Habitat: Shallow wetlands, muddy shores of ponds.
Food: Invertebrates.
Nest: Shallow ground scrape.
Eggs: 39 mm, 4, pale yellow-brown, dark brown spots.
