| Adult: | Pale gray-brown above with blackish primaries. Underparts pinkish with black base to white undertail. Male has pinkish face, female yellowish. Black hindcollar seen at close range. |
| Juvenile: | Duller, lacks neck collar. |
| Similar Species: | Differs from Laughing Dove and European Turtle-Dove by larger size, paler plumage, and black hindcollar. |
| Behavior: | Flight fast and direct. Sings monotonously for long periods. |
