Description: Secretive accentor with bold head pattern.
Adult: Broad white supercilium; brown-black ear coverts and crown. Lightly-streaked pale orange breast and flanks.
Juvenile: Duller with numerous streaks on pale brown underparts.
Similar Species: Differs from Dunnock and Alpine Accentor by contrasting dark ear coverts and pale supercilium.
Behavior: Sings from top of boulder. Feeds beside low banks, rocks, and shrubs.
Habitat: Subalpine areas with low junipers and rock outcrops.
Food: Invertebrates, seeds.
Nest: Cup of plants and feathers in shrub.
Eggs: 20 mm, 3-5, blue.
