Adult: Dark gray-brown upperparts; white below with gray mottling on breast and flanks. Red-brown tail.
Juvenile: Browner below; densely spotted.
Similar Species: Common Nightingale.
Behavior: Shy and secretive; forages in dense vegetation. Loud song is given both day and night.
Habitat: Forests, orchards, river gorges, moist thickets.
Food: Invertebrates.
Nest: Cup of leaves and grass on ground.
Eggs: 22 mm, 4-5, olive-green, reddish spots.
