Description: Very secretive, with surprisingly loud abrupt song. Broad rounded tail. Uniform dark red-brown above; uniform gray-white below; dull white supercilium.
Behavior: Skulks low in dense foliage.
Habitat: Marshes, dense shrubbery up to subalpine zone.
Food: Invertebrates, berries.
Nest: Concealed cup of leaves near ground.
Eggs: 18 mm, 4-5, reddish.
