Length:13 cm, Wing Span:20-23 cm

Description: Rather uniform grayish plumage and dark crown.
Adult: Male: jet-black cap. Female: red-brown cap.
Juvenile: Crown dull, black-brown to yellowish-brown; underparts darker gray.
Similar Species: Garden and Barred Warblers.
Behavior: Song is varied warble with a raspy ending.
Habitat: Deciduous forest with dense shrub layer, orchards; widespread on migration.
Food: Small invertebrates, fruits.
Nest: Cup of thin stems, rootlets, and plant down in shrub.
Eggs: 20 mm, 4-6, variable in color and markings.
