Length:11.5 cm, Wing Span:17-21 cm

Description: Dark with white patch on back of neck, two whitish wingbars, and black throat.
Adult: Black and white head pattern.
Juvenile: Dark brown and yellow head pattern.
Behavior: Feeds in tree tops; also descends to ground to forage in fallen leaves.
Habitat: Forests with some undergrowth, tree plantations, orchards, large river gorges; semidesert scrub in winter.
Food: Insects, seeds.
Nest: Cup of stems, moss, and wool in tree cavity, wall, or nest box.
Eggs: 15 mm, 4-9, white, reddish spots.
