Length:13-15 cm, Wing Span:34-37 cm

Description: Very small drab sandpiper with short slightly-decurved to straight bill, short pale legs varying from yellow to brown-gray, and grayish breast. In flight, shows white tail sides.
Adult (Breeding): Gray above with black markings.
Adult (Non-breeding): Uniform gray above.
Similar Species: Differs from other shorebirds by small size, dark breast, and pale legs.
Behavior: Often solitary. Moves slowly with distinctly hunched posture.
Habitat: Muddy edges of lakes or ponds.
Food: Small invertebrates.
