Resident Status: Migrant, Winter Visitor
Abundance: Rare
Length:65-78 cm, Wing Span:130-165 cm

Description: Tips of folded wings typically even with tail.
Adult: White area extends up forehead from base of bill. Body brown-gray overall with extensive transverse black belly bars.
Juvenile: Lacks the white forehead and distinct belly bars of adult.
Similar Species: Differs from Lesser White-fronted Goose by larger size, less extensive white on forehead, and lack of pale eyering. Greylag Goose is larger with blotched not barred belly, and pink not orange-yellow legs
Habitat: Various water areas; forages in fields.
Food: Soft vegetation and seeds.
