On a national level, the Acopian Center for the Environment provides curricular materials and training on environmental conservation to teachers in Armenian elementary and secondary schools.
The Acopian Center for the Environment participates in environmental meetings, alliances and programs that promote public awareness of environmental problems in the region. We strongly advocate for improved protection of the current reserves and for enhanced environmental legislation and natural resource management in Armenia. Our center hosts conferences on a wide range of environmental issues, for example, the ratification and implementation conference of the Aarhus Convention (in collaboration with the OSCE) and conferences on the use of GIS mapping in environmental conservation.
