Length:21-24 cm, Wing Span:57-61 cm

Description: Dark olive-green above; white below, streaked dark from head to upper breast. White stripe from bill to eye. In flight, shows blackish back and wings, white rump, and tail with 3-4 bold black bars. Dark green legs.
Similar Species: Wood Sandpiper.
Behavior: Secretive. Suddenly flushes at close range.
Habitat: Sheltered shores, ditches, marshes.
Food: Worms, aquatic invertebrates.
Nest: Uses tree nest of other species or scrape on ground.
Eggs: 39 mm, 4, pale olive-green, red-brown blotches.
