Resident Status: Year-round resident
Abundance: Uncommon
Length:32-34 cm, Wing Span:63-69 cm
Distribution Map: Map 173.
Description: Blue-gray. Wing shows two short blackish bars on tertials and greater wing coverts, and pale center, best seen in flight. Glossy green patch on side of neck, pinkish throat and upper breast, reddish bill base and legs.
Similar Species: Rock Dove.
Behavior: Often seen in small flocks.
Habitat: Edges of deciduous forest. On migration: cultivated fields, villages.
Food: Seeds, grain.
Nest: Platform of twigs in tree cavity.
Eggs: 38 mm, 2, white.
