Description: Yellowish legs.
Adult: Pale yellow-brown upperparts, almost unstreaked below. Black median coverts forming a prominent row of spots, darker border to ear coverts and narrow dark malar stripe.
Juvenile: Brown above with broad pale feather edges. Small brown spots on flanks and breast.
Similar Species: Differs from other pipits by yellowish legs and pale face.
Behavior: Undulating flight.
Habitat: Semidesert, mountain steppe, subalpine area.
Food: Invertebrates, seeds.
Nest: Cup lined with fine plant material.
Eggs: 22 mm, 4-5, off-white, brown spots.
