| Description: | Gray head and rump; reddish-brown back and wings; black lores and tail, whitish underparts with numerous dark chevrons, yellow-brown tint on throat and breast. White underwing coverts. |
| Behavior: | Noisy, gregarious species, forming large flocks when feeding and roosting. Gives loud three-note call. |
| Habitat: | Woodland edges, orchards, cultivated fields, mountain steppe. |
