| Description: | Brightly colored; yellow underparts with black stripe from chin to belly. |
| Adult: | Black and white head pattern. Male has broad black belly patch; female's is narrow or absent. |
| Juvenile: | Black and yellow head pattern, lacking black border to lower face. |
| Similar Species: | Differs from other tits by broad black breast stripe. |
| Habitat: | Forests, plantations, orchards, parks; semidesert scrub in winter. |
| Food: | Invertebrates, seeds, fruits. |
| Nest: | Cup of dry plants and moss in cavity of tree, wall, or nest box. |
| Eggs: | 18 mm, 4-12, white, red-brown spots. |
