Resident Status: Casual
Length:16.5 cm, Wing Span:25-30 cm
Description: Whitish belly, brown-red rump, and largely white outertail feathers. At all seasons, female has grayer tone to head and upperparts; dark-streaked crown and throat.
Adult (Breeding): Male is brighter with black-bordered white crown.
Adult (Non-breeding): Male has finely-streaked crown, red-brown face, and black-edged white bar across lower cheek.
Behavior: Usually seen singly in flocks of other buntings.
Habitat: Scrubby grassland; field edges.
Food: Seeds, invertebrates.
