Length:53-66 cm, Wing Span:120-135 cm

Description: Tips of folded wings typically extend beyond tail.
Adult: Extensive white forehead and distinct yellow eyering. Body brown-gray overall with dark transverse belly bars.
Juvenile: Lacks dark belly bars and white forehead.
Similar Species: Differs from Greater White-fronted Goose by typically smaller size, broader white forehead, and yellow eyering.
Habitat: Water areas, typically with reed and cattail thickets; forages in fields.
Food: Vegetation.
