Resident Status: Migrant, Winter Visitor
Length:42-51 cm, Wing Span:72-84 cm

Description: Expected as migrant or winter visitor. Broad-billed diving duck. Male: greenish head, black breast, pale gray back, white flanks and belly. Female: brown with paler flanks and large white patch around base of bill.
Similar Species: Tufted Duck, Common Pochard, and Common Goldeneye.
Behavior: Dives frequently. Flies in irregular flocks or lines.
Habitat: Ponds, lakes.
Food: Mollusks, insects, crustaceans, small fish.
